Stop Trying to Achieve Purrfect Balance and Do This Instead

By Marisa Murgatroyd

Happy International Cat Day!

I’m terribly allergic to cats but there’s one thing I absolutely admire about them…

They achieve purrrfect balance without even thinking about it!

We humans aren’t so lucky.

When it comes to work-life balance, we’re about as graceful as an elephant on a tightrope!

Here’s why…

The concept of “the perfect work-life balance” isn’t real!

You can‘t schedule all aspects of life and work, then fit everything neatly, into your calendar.

If you’ve tried doing that, you know I’m right!

So, forget balance and go for a “work-life rhythm” instead.

Allow yourself to go with the flow…

Spend more time on your business during busy seasons — like when you’re in the middle of a product launch.

During slower seasons, set aside chunks of time to hang out with family, or to lose yourself in a hobby.

Aim for rhythm over balance and you’ll always have time for the things that matter.

What can you change in your schedule to create work-life rhythm? Leave a comment!

See you tomorrow — same time, same place — for your daily 60-second video espresso. Make it a habit!
