Discipline. It’s an old-fashioned concept, isn’t it?
It brings strict school teachers to mind.
But the kind of discipline we need as entrepreneurs doesn’t involve blackboards or homework.
We need self-discipline – the ability to overcome temptation and control our emotions – on our own.
Discipline isn’t so much about what you do, it’s about what you don’t do.
It’s about NOT turning on Netflix when you have a blog post to write. It’s about NOT reaching for doughnuts when you’ve sworn off sugar.
So how do you NOT do these things? Look at your environment -- remove ALL temptation.
Don’t work in your living room. Work in a room where there’s no TV. Don’t stock sugary treats when you’re trying to kick your sugar habit. Fill your fridge with healthy treats.
Go ahead -- start eliminating temptations in your surroundings. It’s a powerful first step to growing your discipline muscle.
Look around you…what are the temptations and distractions you see? Leave a comment!
Love it? Hate it? Let me know...

Thank you so much for these 60 second reminders.
What a great way to start my day.
With so many distractions and temptations constantly in front of me/us, it is so easy to lose focus.
I’m most distracted at home. Time to declutter my home office area.-
Glad you’re enjoying them! Yes, working from home is a major test of discipline. Decluttering and staying organized is a great way to combat distractions! Love it Athalia!
