I just had the opportunity to put aside my business for a week, fly to Chicago, and learn from one of the greatest marketing masterminds on the planet: Eben Pagan.
… and I’m taking away 3 big insights that have the potential to transform my business (and yours), IF put into practice.
That’s usually a big IF since so many people let life derail their highest aspirations, but it doesn’t have to be.
I’m personally committed to implementing these strategies over the next few months and I’d like to invite you to join me (details below).
Why? I know it’s selfish, but you keep me inspired and accountable. When I publicly commit myself to action, alongside of you, I’m 10x more likely to get where I want to go. That’s the power of community.
3 months ago I invited you to join me in the 30 Day Video Challenge and over 300 of you said yes, got out your cameras and took action. Through that experience we formed an amazing community of entrepreneurs committed to self-expression, evolution and results. That experience changed me and everyone who took part… business partnerships were formed, lifetime friendships emerged, and we all said and did things we never thought possible….
So before I invite you to join me in another 30 Day Challenge, I’d like to share the three breakthrough insights I received from Eben and why they matter.
INSIGHT #1 – “All business problems are personal problems.”
Put differently: “You can’t solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created it” (Einstein).
Whenever I feel stuck in my business, like I’ve hit a ceiling I can’t break out of, it usually means there’s something inside of me stuck too. And the only way to get to the next level is by evolving myself. Changing my mindset and actions.
Business growth and personal growth go hand-in-hand. In other words, the next level of success in your business may involve upgrading your internal operating system.
INSIGHT #2 – Build a tribe around yourself.
Humans are tribal animals. We’re designed to live our lives in tight-knit groups of 20-150 people.
Yet the vast majority of internet-based entrepreneurs spend their days largely alone in front of their computers, isolated from the very people who will bring them their success.
During Eben’s Accelerate seminar, Tribal Rainmaker Dave Logan asked, “How many of you have 19 other people completely committed to your business and watching it grow? 19 other people completely focused on your success?”
No one raised their hand.
I struggled to count past the 5 members of my core team.
Logan went on to explain why 20 was a magic threshold number. A team or small group is easily distracted or manipulated by a single key player (moi? blush, blush). A lone individual is only as smart as they are and can only see what their experience and perspective allows them to see. But a tribe of 20 or more people gains insight, stability and security. A tribe supports you like nothing else in your business, whether they’re invested financially or simply emotionally in holding you accountable.
INSIGHT #3 – Schedule yourself for success.
My mentor Brendon Burchard says that he can tell how successful someone is by looking at their calendar.
Eben Pagan took that one step further by inviting us to craft our “morning ritual” and our “ideal day.” He recommended spending the first 1-2 hours of your day in activities that nourish your body, mind and spirit before moving on to the highest priorities in your business.
And by highest, he doesn’t mean the most urgent – he doesn’t mean the emails waiting in your inbox. He means the things that will change the structure of your business over the long-term. Things like marketing and product creation.
Think about it, what would happen in your business if you spent an hour every day on marketing and another hour on product creation?
A lot, right?
Eben lead us through an exercise to not only craft our morning ritual and schedule the flow of our ideal day, but to commit to actually putting it in place in our lives.
So if you’d like to join me in taking back your time and living the most productive month of your life, then sign up for the 30 Day “Get Focused” Challenge and I’ll send you a copy of my “ideal day” so you can start dreaming up what you’d like yours to look like. I’ll also send you a link to our private Facebook group so you can join the tribe…

I’m in! I think that this will be a great way to gain more tools for productivity. I also think that it is a good sign that the challenge starts on my birthday.
-
That’s a very good sign Shelley! Almost always, we’re the only thing holding us back and I really hope this Challenge helps us all open the floodgates on our productivity.

Thank you Lisa! I’m in and have shared it with several FB groups.

Dammit, you snagged me again, Marissa. I resisted your lures for a long time, but this one is well-timed and, frankly, irresistible. Focus is indeed the order of the day – starting on my 60th birthday, August 26th!
-
Awesome, Mary! You and Shelley are both starting this on your birthday… 🙂

-
Focus is exactly what I have been struggling with, I can’t wait to start
-
Distractions have had me stuck. I’m having trouble identifying what’s essential and what’s a distraction, so having some help focusing would be just the thing. Looking forward to the challenge.

I signed up Marisa! Looking forward to it!

Definitely in. So need help, as someone said, so many ideas, so little time. Thanks Marisa.

Hey- thanks for this! I am curious though, can’t really see any details of what we actually do during the 30 days. Is it constructing our own daily schedule and adhering to it? Or is it writing a set of goals for each day? Maybe details come later? Thanks
